In 2014 we announced our new Kid’s Fit Menu created in partnership with Medical City Children’s Hospital and their Kids Teaching Kids Program. We are happy to say it has been an overwhelming success. It is with pride that Hoffbrau Steaks continues to offer healthy meals to our future generations.
Not only has it been successful for us, but Medical City Children’s Hospital was recently presented the Texas Hospital Association’s 2015 Excellence in Community Service Award recognizing its kids teaching kids program. Medical City Children’s Hospital Chief Executive Officer, Keith Zimmerman, accepted the award on behalf of the hospital during the THA 2016 Annual Conference and Expo in Dallas on January 22. We are proud to be part of their efforts in educating students and parents about developing lifelong healthy snacking and eating habits.
In 2015 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced the following facts for children:
- Childhood obesity has more than doubled in children and quadrupled in adolescents in the past 30 years.
- The percentage of children aged 6–11 years in the United States who were obese increased from 7% in 1980 to nearly 18% in 2012. Similarly, the percentage of adolescents aged 12–19 years who were obese increased from 5% to nearly 21% over the same period.
As disturbing as that may sound, it doesn’t mean that your child has to eat meals that are not delicious. Hoffbrau Steaks wants them to enjoy their meal and benefit from it being as nutritional as well. The success of Kids Teaching Kids program at our locations in Texas confirm to us we made a good decision in partnering with Texas Medical City Children’s Hospital. The number of children ordering from the Hoffbrau Kids Fit Menu increases each month. So to keep this momentum going we have updated our Kid’s Fit Menu to give them an opportunity for even better choices.
So, as parents, you can confidently bring your children to Hoffbrau Steaks, enjoy your chosen meal and know that your kids are eating healthy. They will want to come back over and over and we would love to have them. Hmmm, I wonder if I could pass for age 12 or under cause it sure looks good to me, Seriously, Chicken Sliders and Cinnamon Bananas? Who wouldn’t want them?
